Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso
Wine name: REFOSCO DAL PEDUNCOLO ROSSO
Production area: D.O.P. FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI
in the hills of the municipality of Attimis at 200 m. above sea level.
Type of wine: Dry red.
Soil: Flysch of the Eocene epoch with a prevalence of sandstone.
Growing system: Guyot.
Harvest: Early October (fist ten days of the month).
Grapes are hand harvested, selected and separated into crates.
Vinification: Maceration on the skins for at least 15 days at about 26°C. Once racked off and softly pressed, the wine stands in stainless steel vats untill Spring at a controlled temperature.
Enhancement: The wine is transfered into medium charred French oak barrels with different dimension.
Alcohol content: 13 % vol.
Total acidity: 5,50 gr/l
Organoleptic Characteristics: Ruby red colour, fruity bouquet spiced by the time spent in the oak barrels. Dry wine with rich complexity and balance.
It is not very tannic and the good level of acidity contributes to its structure and smoothness.
Conservation: Keep in a cool, dark place.
Serving temperature: 18° C

Food combinations: Good match with red meats, game and seasoned cheese.
