Wine name: PICOLIT
Production area: D.O.C.G. COLLI ORIENTALI DEL FRIULI
in the hills of the municipality of Attimis at 200 m. above sea level.
Type of wine: Sweet white.
Soil: Flysch of the Eocene epoch with a prevalence of sandstone.
Growing system: Guyot.
Harvest: Late October (second third of the month).
Grapes are hand harvested, selected and separated into crates.
Vinification: Slight maceration, vinification “in white” followed by soft pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats.
Enhancement:
One part undergoes a 14 month fermentation in wooden barrels, the other refines in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature.
Once bottled the wine is left to mature for 4 months before sale.
Alcohol content: 14 % vol.
Total acidity: 6,50 gr/l
Organoleptic Characteristics: Golden yellow colour. The perfume is both intense and velvety with a sensual bouquet and a slight aftertaste of vanilla and exotic fruit.
Conservation: Keep in a cool, dark place, it stands ageing.
Serving temperature: 8-9° C
Bottle: 500 ml
Food combinations: Wine to think over, to drink with the person you love, to be combined with seasoned blu-veined cheeses and a touch of acacia honey.
