Wine name: MERLOT
Production area: D.O.P. FRIULI COLLI ORIENTALI
in the hills of the municipality of Attimis at 200 m. above sea level.
Type of wine: Dry red.
Soil: Flysch of the Eocene epoch with a prevalence of sandstone.
Growing system: Guyot.
Harvest: Early October (first ten days of the month).
Grapes are hand harvested, selected and separated into crates.
Vinification: Maceration on the skins for at least 15 days at about 26°C. Once racked off and softly pressed, the wine stands in stainlesss steel vats until spring at a controlled temperature.
Enhancement: The wine is transfered for 6 months
into slightly charred French oak barrels of different dimensions.
Once bottled the wine is left to mature for 4 months before sale.
Alcohol content: 13 % vol.
Total acidity: 5,00 gr/l
Organoleptic Characteristics: The Merlot grown on the hills of Attimis has characteristics of its own that can’t be found in the same Merlot grown on the variety of soils from the Friuli to the Veneto regions.
Its deep red colour , after moderate ageing, takes intense garnet red glints.
The wine is dry and slightly bitter flavoured and has a refined bouquet that gains in fruit flavours with age.
Conservation: Keep in a cool, dark place.
Serving temperature: 18° C

Food combinations: Perfect match for roast and stewed meats, both red and white, from poultry to rabbit and game meat.
